Giving clear directions, practicing active listening skills and using non-defensive communication techniques improves leadership effectiveness. Studies show that managers and supervisors spend over 25% of their time managing conflict. When performance expectations are made clear, and reinforced properly, managers can avoid the appearance of bias. They can also improve the consistency of production through a more accountable workforce. Through interactive discussions and use of real life situations, participants learn a variety of management strategies and when to use them effectively.
